Recreational Gymnastics Coach Job Description
DAYS : Morning Shift available & or Evening shifts available .
PART TIME: 10-20 hours per week.
STARTING WAGE: $10.00 hour.
The Recreational Gymnastics Coach will teach students how to safely execute beginner, gymnastics skills. This is a part-time, non-exempt, entry level position.

The Recreational Gymnastics Coach will teach students how to safely execute beginner, gymnastics skills. This is a part-time, non-exempt, entry level position.
he coach will report to the gym manager and perform the following responsibilities:
Work objectives
- Assist and supervise classes of athletes ages 1.5 - 4 yrs or ages 4-7yrs
- Learn, teach skills and abilities at the beginner level.
- Lead the Park Elite basic warm ups
- Lead children and manage up to 4 -8 athletes:
- Focus on all gymnasts
- Practice positive reinforcement
- Log skill testing of each gymnast quarterly
- Determine pre-team readiness with assessment reports to gym manager.
- Set up a safe gym environment:
- Adhere to gym rules and safety practices for all equipment
- Ensure correct technique is used while spotting
- Review gym and facility safety with new gymnasts
- Set up appropriate equipment for age, ability, and size of gymnast
- be familiar with emergency and evacuation procedures
- Plan and come prepared:
- Arrive on time for work
- Positive attitude
- Arrive prepared to coach
- Arrive in PES coaching uniform
- Log class attendance daily
- Communicate with gym manager on a weekly basis regarding gymnast performance.
- Ensure the gym, including bathrooms, lobby and office space are clean
- Knowledge of gymnastics preferred but not required.
- Detail oriented.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
- Able to handle multiple activities at the same time.
- Ability to understand the relationship of information and its effect throughout all processes and programs.
- Able to assist in planning events and activities.
- Be consistent and reliable in arrival and attendance to assure the proper operation of the program.
- Must be flexible with work schedule in order to participate in special programs, staff meetings and events.
- Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the position.
- Proven track record of utilizing good judgment and decision making skills to be able to work independently.
- Current American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and AED certificates or ability to obtain certification
