Skill Clinics

What is a Skill Clinic?
A Skill Clinic provides a focused, two-hour training on one or more areas of gymnastics.  This two-hour clinic provides an opportunity for gymnasts to have more time in the gym to perfect current skills and learn new ones. Skill clinics include: Tumbling Camp, Bars Camp,  Vault camp & Team Camp.

What is Tumbling Clinic?
Tumbling Camp will focus on the fundamental tumbling skills that work to build to back handsprings and beyond.  Gymnasts will be put into groups according to their skill level.  They will begin with forward rolls, back rolls, handstands and cartwheels.  Once they master these skills, they will work toward round offs, back handsprings, back tucks, and much more.

What is Bars Clinic?

Bars Camp will work to build upper body and core strength while building the fundamental skills on bars. Side stations will work the strength and shape needed to perform bar skills.  Stations with coaches will work bar skills such as chin up pullovers, back hip circles, and a variety of dismounts.

What is Back Handspring Clinic?

Back Handspring Clinics will work to build all basic tumbling skills that lead to the back handspring, a round off back handspring, and skills that progress beyond the round off back handspring.

What is Team Camp?
Team Camp is offered to current team members as well as our Prep -Team and Advanced Level 2 Girls Gymnastics students.  This will allow the current team gymnasts to get in some extra practice, and current Prep-Team and Advanced level 2 gymnasts to experience what competitive team practice is like. Gymnasts will be split up according to level and rotate to each Olympic event as well as a tumbling rotation.

Does my child need to be enrolled in class?
No.

What is the minimum age for Skills Camps?
Beginner = Ages 5 + and above.
Intermediate - Ages 6 +  or level 1/Bronze level and above
Advanced = Level 2 and up

Who can attend?
Boys and girls ages 5 and up.

How will the groups be split up?
By age and skill level. We will have a coach evaluate the skill level of your gymnast when camp starts so he or she can be placed in the appropriate group. As your child progresses, he or she can promote to a more advanced group.

What is the ratio of gymnasts to coaches?
10 kids will have at least 2 coaches with them at all times.

Can I pick one camp or do I have to sign up for all three?
More gym time equals more progression. We encourage you to enroll your child in as many camps as they want to attend. All of our camps will benefit each other in unique ways. Bars camp will help your gymnast’s floor, beam, and vault skills. Tumbling camp will benefit bars, beam, and vault.
